Photos From Toledo

I am writing this from Madrid, my current home base. As big as this city is, it can quickly start to feel a little repetitive in terms of photography. To change it up a little, I decided to jump on a train and head to Toledo. In this blog I will share some photos and information on this day trip.

Toledo is located south of Madrid with a direct 30 minute train from Atocha train station. You can buy the tickets using Trainline or at the station. They are not the cheapest compared to some other routes but the journey is worth it.

When you get off at Toledo, spend some time exploring and photographing the station. It really is beautiful.

From there you need to walk a little to Toledo itself as the station is a little out. When you reach the main gate, instead of going into the town, Instead I suggest following the road that is mapped below. This is about a 1.5 hour walk and you will have some amazing views of the town. Then as you keep following it round, it will bring you to the rear gate where you can enter the town.

When inside, the first stop needs to be the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes. It’s a beautiful location with a great garden and plenty to see.

After that head towards the old town and start wondering round all the streets. In the old town you will find plenty of Synagogues which can be cool to explore too.

From there just keep walking round and exploring while slowly heading towards the front gate (the one we walked past in the morning). Overall a quick and easy day trip I highly suggest. Below are some more photos.
